In addition to high quality injectors, bridges and spreaders (three different windshield repair tools), I also have a collection of tools that include:
- Dristar: in case of rainy weather, this tool dries out the chip so that it can be repaired
- UV light: since windshield repair resin is cured with UV light, this ensures that the repaired is completely cured at the time of service. (Many companies simply let the sun do the work over time.)
- LED light: a UV free light that allows me to perform repairs at night, but not to cure them until I'm ready to do so with my UV light.
- Sun Shield with a black backer: I can position the shield onto the windshield with an adjustable arm at any angle. The shield can either block the sun or rain, and the black back reduces UV light bouncing around the work area.
- Latex gloves: to keep my hands clean.
- Battery power pack: Portable power for my lights. Also handy in case of a dead battery!

With the winter coming, you think about things around your house that could be a potential problem. What you might know is that your Windshield could be a real problem if it has chip or crack that has not been repaired. Says Larry Diesbach Jr a member of FixMyWindshield.com
Even if you have even a small chip in your windshield, should get it fixed as soon as possible to avoid some big problems when the ice and snow hits this winter.
A small chip could land your wallet empty this season with out a simple repair to the chip. Auto Glass Repair technicians do it ever day, and can come right to where you work and fix your chips. However sometimes the damage does not disappear it is however a structural fix, says Diesbach
Most Insurance companies will cover the cost of a windshield repair if you have comprehensive insurance, with the exception of a few. This leave you with money in you pocket and a windshield that will be structurally sound.

Larry Diesbach also mentions that replacing your windshield before the extreme cold hits is always a good decision as a crack in your windshield can cause severe damage to wiper blades.
